Our OCR engine locates each printed field on the license image, extracts the text with AI-assisted error correction, and returns a clean JSON object. For US licenses, the PDF417 barcode on the reverse is also decoded, providing a more complete and reliable data set.

Images of at least 150 DPI with even lighting work best. Our model handles moderate glare, slight perspective distortion, and minor damage well. Extremely dark, blurred, or heavily laminated licenses may reduce accuracy slightly.
