Rental desks need accurate customer and license details before releasing vehicles or regulated equipment. Teams also need to distinguish a readable barcode from a verified person or authentic credential; combining those concepts creates compliance and product risk.

Deterministic Barcode Parsing with Human Confirmation

Pre-fill the rental record from the back barcode, confirm the fields with the customer, and separately enforce equipment-specific eligibility rules. StructOCR's driver license PDF417 API decodes the barcode and parses the AAMVA record without asking a generative model to reconstruct unreadable values. A decoded vehicle class or expiry date must still be evaluated under the rental company's policies and applicable law.
